MEDITATIONS

WHY MEDITATION?

According to Hari Sharma (Center for Integrative Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University), an increasing body of research shows various health benefits associated with meditation. During the process of meditation, accumulated stresses are removed, energy is increased, and health is positively affected, overall. Research has confirmed myriad health benefits associated with the practice of meditation. These include stress reduction, decreased anxiety, decreased depression, reduction in pain (both physical and psychological), improved memory, and many more.

FREE MEDITATIONS

The guided meditations I created on this site vary in length from approximately five minutes to a little under 25 minutes, and more will be added to this site over time. I am a teacher on the Insight Timer site, and my meditations can be accessed here. The content is the same as on this site, but you can get completion credit and rate the meditations on the Insight Timer site. You can learn more on their website, here. Whether you use these or any meditation from the myriad sources available on line, the key for success is to make this a habit, just like the 4-7-8 breathing described here. We all know (and have probably used) the excuse of "I don't have time"--and we equally know that it is just that--an excuse. If you can find the time to wait on line for coffee every morning, you can find the time to feed your mind and soul. I hope you enjoy these meditations, and let me know what you think! Ideas welcomed!

AMAZING FEEDBACK FROM MEDITATORS

I am so grateful and blessed to receive generous feedback from people who have listened to my guided meditations. Sharing some of the feedback below as direct, verbatim quotes in the hopes that it might spur you onto, or accelerate, your meditative journey.

"The instructor's soothing voice led me to visualize each chakra....I could feel the energy flowing through my body...releasing any blockages and inviting in healing."
